Here's the other clip from our fashion show

Catch Up!

Over the last couple of days/weeks, I have been frantically rushing around for the Fashion Show that I have been organising! However, it has been such a great experience. I am just so grateful that I was able to be a apart of something, that I am passionate about.
The fashion show was for our sixth form ball, but also in aid of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer in theme of the Fashion of course.
This is part of the Show:
If ever, you need to raise money for your sixth form ball, I highly recommend organising a show, it may be hard work, with all the advertising, the ticket designing, selling, organising catwalks, making the desingers ready.... and so much more. But once it goes well, you just feel so relieved, it's like getting your first pair of Louboutins (not that i have any, but i know I would feel really ecstatic). It's just a great experience and has shown that I do want to do things like this in the future. Even helping out with London Fashion Week - which I would love to do!!!

Fashion News

At the moment, life has indeed been hetic! While trying to run a fashion show, which means the marketing, organising all the designers, making sure the stage is right, get the tech team in order. THEN on the night (13th Feb) trying to make sure nothing bad happens back stage etc

ahhhh! Anyway, I am really looking forward to finally showing off the designers talent and my skills to actually organise this event and for it to be a sell-out success.

My new purchases in my life:

I got both these jackets from a charity shop in surrey. There are about 5 charity shops next to eachother in Surrey, you got to love it. I love finding a bargain, the top jacket cost me £9.50 and the bottom checked jacket cost me £10!
Sometimes I worry that I will never find anything I would like in charity shops, but I take that saying all back now!!!

I am so happy to hear that Cara Delevingne is on the copy of BRITISH VOGUE!!! you now realise what my new purchase is! haha
When I go on the tumblr, you get the occasional people say that they find Cara Delevingne overrated?!?! and I'm sitting here thinking WHAT?!?!
Yes i understand, she may be everywhere now in the media and etc, but I have been on youtube, looking at her interviews and she seems to genuine and funny! I really like her and think she is a really good role model for any models that want to go into the fashion industry.

Other than that, Sign up to ASOS! This is the first time I have actually recieved a magazine from ASOS, and boy! was I a happy bunny!!! The layout in the magazine, the styling, the interview pages and articles!! I am so impressed, looks really well made, and can't wait for my next month's copy! That I hope they will send!!!!!

Fashion Update

How has everyone been?

Recently, I have so soooooo busy, literally!
Here's an update.
  • I have had to put a portfolio together for university interviews, which I don't mind, as I like to look at previous best work.
  • I have had exams to sit - I have another one on friday and one next Tuesday! wish me good luck
  • In Feb, it's the fashion show, I am directing, I feel really nervous as I just want everything to do right and for it to be perfect!
I have been looking at some of my favourite fashion and beauty magazines and I came across this video on Hunger website (above). I just found it so random, but quite humorous as well. Not sure why, but most things make me laugh anyway, so I am not surprised.

Something I am definetly loving this january is FLORALS!!!!!

left - Katie Eary
Floral's have got to just be one of my favorite patterns, they are so eye-catchy, they are the statement piece when wearing some black trousers etc.

I am not sure about this 1920's hair trend. I know the Great Gatsby movie will be coming out in summer, and this may have an influence on the different trends as the movie was written at the time of the 'Roaring Twenties' and the Jazz Age with the Flappers. However, I am not into all the gel and the sleek clean look, but everyone has different styles and views so do what you like as well.

ORANGE!!! One of my favourite colours! It's so gorgeous and bright. Whenever I think of orange, I always just think of oranges - the fruit and then the beautiful smell..... ahhhhhhh!
got to love orange - it's a b-e-a-u-tiful colour!
Images were from - Stylist magazine Online

I think next time, I may do beauty post, about the make-up I use etc.

Katie Eary

You could say that maybe, I am a bit slow, but I have just found out about Katie Eary and her designs! and omg I am in love.
If you have no clue about her designs, please look at this:

I love her graphic design patterns, to be honest I have always loved animal related prints on clothing, this can be seen when I purchased some cat socks from Topshop. Definitely bought on impulse, however my obsession with cats meant that it was a must-have item for me!
Aren't they cute!?!
Getting back to the point... haha. I love the use of colour on her clothing, the only thing I would worry about her clothing or any high street clothing or designer clothing, would be you may just like it for it's hanger appeal (how good it looks on the hanger). As a result of this, it will look different depending of body shapes and sizes.

Katie's video's are amazing as well!
take a peek!! Its amazing!love it so inspirational. Love how she's kept it all black and white, the editing of the whole film looks great! How she thought about all these ideas, literally blows me away! She must of put lots of thought into her work, and you can see that the work looks like it based on her personality.

Need to save up!!! To buy a piece of her clothing. I will Definitely be keep up to date with this designer!

Designer Specials

Anyone else LOVE CHLOE?
I love the elegant way they promote their styles. The elegant dresses and the whole video, creates peace in their clothing. The wind blowing the models hair as they are pictured in front of the camera and the whole feminine look about the range is clearly shown. The boyish looks contrast with the setting and how they are in the countryside and the sharp tailored clothing, gives the products some edge, so they have a range of products in which suit the consumers.

Who are your favourite designers?

Not motivated to do exercise...

I was EXACTLY the same, you may not think it, but you are not the only one who wants to lose a few dress sizes and to be toned.

The Gym - Daunting Place!
I go to the gym and I just stand there for a minute and think........ "why me?" why am i here? what have I done to deserve this?
And the answer was there, right there!
The answer was in fact ME. Hard to admit it, but I'm the one who got overweight, I'm the one, who couldn't help herself, but to indulge into fast food, junk food and fizzy drinks. It's been my fault and I am the one to blame.

So I thought it was in fact, time to take action.... YES TAKE ACTION!!!

My steps into being Motivated and Taking Action!

1.)Eat Healthy
I would say cut down portions for now. Eat lots of fruit, keep hydrated (drinking water that means!. Eat salads, the best thing about salads are that they are full of water, especially the lettuce! I love a good chicken caesar salad yum yum yumm :)

2.) Update some Upbeat Tunes onto your Ipod etc
You would not think it, but this has helped me so SO much! literally, when you are listening to fast tracks, with the volume up - you feel so motivated! Well I do!
Set up a gym playist on your ipod! Here's a few tracks to help you:

  • jessie Ware - Running (Disclosure remix)
  • Push the Feeling On - Nightcrawlers
  • Redlight - Lost In Your Love
  • Wearing My Rolex - Wiley
  • Gold Dust - DJ Fresh
  • Katy On a Mission - Katy B
  • Sub Focus - Out of the Blue ft Alice Gold
  • Thinking about you(ft Ayah Marar) - Calvin Harris
  • Sweet Nothing(ft Florence Welch) - Calvin Harris
  • Don't you worry child - Swedish House Mafia
  • U sure do - Strike
3.) Find a Gym Partner
Doing the gym with someone else is so much more rewarding, yes you may have a giggle about things, but you feel more motivated and relaxed knowing that you know someone who is at the gym.

4.)Get some good trainers
I know this may sound silly, but having some trainers you like, make you feel more excited to train and want to tone or lose weight. Really!!

5.)Having a Gym-free day
Not going to the gym because you a busy or whatever, doesn't stop you from doing some exercise at home. A few steps on your stairs, a few sit ups, or even purchase a yoga ball!

You need to be determined and in the right frame of mind in order to achieve your goals.
All of these steps are what I am trying to achieve now, so wish me good luck! haha

If anyone has any other music recommendations, please leave a comment, I'd love to find some more great tracks:)
