Fashion Update

How has everyone been?

Recently, I have so soooooo busy, literally!
Here's an update.
  • I have had to put a portfolio together for university interviews, which I don't mind, as I like to look at previous best work.
  • I have had exams to sit - I have another one on friday and one next Tuesday! wish me good luck
  • In Feb, it's the fashion show, I am directing, I feel really nervous as I just want everything to do right and for it to be perfect!
I have been looking at some of my favourite fashion and beauty magazines and I came across this video on Hunger website (above). I just found it so random, but quite humorous as well. Not sure why, but most things make me laugh anyway, so I am not surprised.

Something I am definetly loving this january is FLORALS!!!!!

Floral's have got to just be one of my favorite patterns, they are so eye-catchy, they are the statement piece when wearing some black trousers etc.

I am not sure about this 1920's hair trend. I know the Great Gatsby movie will be coming out in summer, and this may have an influence on the different trends as the movie was written at the time of the 'Roaring Twenties' and the Jazz Age with the Flappers. However, I am not into all the gel and the sleek clean look, but everyone has different styles and views so do what you like as well.

ORANGE!!! One of my favourite colours! It's so gorgeous and bright. Whenever I think of orange, I always just think of oranges - the fruit and then the beautiful smell..... ahhhhhhh!
got to love orange - it's a b-e-a-u-tiful colour!

I think next time, I may do beauty post, about the make-up I use etc.

Curves are finally being accepted!

As being a curvy woman myself, accepting the fact that you know, I love food, who doesn't. This news on the Daily Mail about Curvy women finally being on the London Fashion Week Runway, did in fact make my day.
Being a curvy woman and living in the UK, knowing about obesity, I think it has become knowledgeable that we are infact not the skinniest nation. But what does that matter?? The average size in the UK is probably a size 14 -18, for most women. So why is it only now that curvy women have JUST been accepted to feature on a London catwalk.

This links me back to when Karl Lagerfeld's comment about the amazing singer Adele cropped up about her being 'too fat'. Not only did Adele find this offensive and commented back saying 'I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that',but I found it as a throw back, I liked both Adele and Karl. Yes he may entitled to his opinion, but there is a saying that if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all.

So, with Curvy women, accepting who they are, this makes me think that after these curvy models will be featured on the London Fashion Week catwalk, will it be a continuing thing??

This also made me wonder about weight in general, why are we so worried about weight, why can't we accept our bodies for what they are, we only live once, so make do with what you have and be happy!

So I wish you all a happy new year! and be happy! look after yourselves :)
